Relay For Life 2014

It was a blast being this year’s Team Captain for the cancer-awareness event, Relay for Life at Bear Creek High School! It was great seeing the community to come together to remember loved ones who dealt with cancer and fight back against the disease. The 85-degree weather and cloudless sky yielded a perfect day for the event so everyone was out and about walking laps around the booths, dancing along with the Zumba instructors, playing soccer in the middle of the field, or just relaxing and enjoying each others’ company. Forty or so other teams participated in the event, each with a booth for on-site fundraising. Some things the booths sold were water balloons, games, raffle tickets, but most sold a variety of foods. Our Phi Delta Chi booth sold fresh spam musubi that we prepared that morning and we were able to raise over $100 to donate back to the cause. Relay for Life was definitely a success and I look forward to the event next year!
